Girls Camp Logo

My wife was the director for girls camp this year and each group of girls had to pick a fish as their camp name. My wife found a fish named Pink Kisser and the girls loved it so that became their camp name. They asked me to create a logo for their flag and shirts and I agreed. This is what I made using Maya:

Drawings of the Old Man

For my animation class at the University of Utah we each made an animation short. This was a semester long project and although there were other small assignments that we were asked to do, this animation project took up the bulk of the semester. For this project my teacher wanted us to make the animation about someone/something who is lonely or alone. Also, she wanted us to take the inspiration for this from a famous painting.

I found a painting which depicted a table with some hand towels on it, and below this table sat a rug. I thought to myself that this rug looked lonely. If only he could join the hand towels above him, he would be much happier. From that developed the story of door rug trying to join the hand towels set on an oven handle while avoiding an old man who lives in the home.

First we made sketches of our main character to model them in the 3D program Maya.
